Hello! My name is Lucca! My story is sad, but I am happy to be at CARA. Everyone here loves me so much and they want to find my brother and I the best home. (My brother and I would love to be adopted together, but if this is not possible we will eventually understand and grow to be happy confident companion pups)

I was found abandoned in my house, after my human mommy died of cancer over a month ago. I was on my own with my dog brother for a month. Most nights I went hungry and had to potty inside my house. The house became unbearable to stand in for my rescuers so just imagine what I went through :(

Thankfully a neighbor finally reached out to CARA and they came to meet me, and bring me back to the rescue. I have been SOOOOOO sweet ever since. I was tolerant of all of my medical intake, and give the best puppy dog eyes, and snuggles. I am calm and docile. I would love to find my home soon. Please call the rescue for more information!

Our adoption fees are:
Dogs: $250
Cats: $95
Puppies under 4 months: $235 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100
Kittens under 4 months: $70 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100

All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered (unless under 4 months please read about our adoptions here ), are current on vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Cats have been tested and confirmed negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia. Dogs have been tested for heartworm disease.

Our shelter is located at 42 Deep River Rd in Sanford and is open Tues, Thurs, & Fri from 3pm - 7pm & Sat from 10-2pm (other times available by appointment). CARA's adoption process and online application can be found at http://www.cara-nc.org/info/adoption
