If you ask Alfie what’s it all about, he’ll probably tell you fun, food, and his foster mom. A playful, easy-going pup, Alfie loves frisking with his foster mates and is very affectionate and snuggly with his human caretakers. Attentive and eager to please, he walks well on a leash for his age and is working on housetraining and a couple of basic commands. He already has ‘sit’ down pat, especially when the treats come out! Australian Shepherds are highly intelligent and easy to train. They are active and easily bored, so he will need a lot of exercise and something to keep that busy aussie mind occupied. Alfie might do well in agility or flyball, or make a great jogging buddy. For sure, he will be a happy devoted companion in return for lots of love and attention. If you would like to adopt Alfie, please visit CARA to fill out an on-line application or e-mail us at cara@cara-nc.org.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life.
