Sometimes it makes you wonder, when you look at a puppy like me and see fear. But still I want to please you and I seek you out for love, affection, security... Just to feel safe. It's not only because some of my forefathers have been bred to be the perfect all-around working dog. It's because dogs like me have a heart of gold. I doubt you could find a more faithful friend.

They promised me that I am safe now, and will always have enough food and a place to sleep. That they will find me a new Mom & Dad now, that keep me safe and happy for the rest of my life. I do try hard to please you. My house manners are pretty good and I am trying to figure out the leash thing. I don't think I have seen one before and it honestly still frightens me a little. But they come with pockets full of treats and all the patience of the world. They say I will learn it soon enough and not to worry. I'm so glad they don't get mad when I don't understand right away.
I am a Angel with fur and I think I could love everybody. I am heartworm negative, UTD on shots & preventatives & will be spayed!

Our adoption fees are:
Dogs: $250
Cats: $95
Puppies under 4 months: $235 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100
Kittens under 4 months: $70 plus Spay/Neuter Deposit: $100

All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered (unless under 4 months please read about our adoptions here ), are current on vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Cats have been tested and confirmed negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia. Dogs have been tested for heartworm disease.

Our shelter is located at 42 Deep River Rd in Sanford and is open Tues, Thurs,  & Fri from 3pm - 7pm & Sat from 10-2pm (other times available by appointment). CARA's adoption process and online application can be found at  http://www.cara-nc.org/info/adoption

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred  that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life.
