Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Learn more about the Chihuahua. Hello, my name is Gigi and I'm a sweetheart! I love to lay in the sun as well as any lap I can find! I'm so thankful that CARA scooped me up and rescued me, but I'm ready to meet my forever family. It could be you. Gigi would do best in a home with no children and would thrive with either an older couple or single person. While she is a sweet heart, she does need those few days just to bond but after that just a sweet snuggle bug. Her foster mom shares: " If watching TV she will be right next to me all snuggled." Gigi likes toys and nylabones and sleeps in her crate at night or will snuggle under covers. With calm cats she is great, but with active kitties she will chase and try to play. She seems to warm up easily to smaller dogs, but larger ones it took her about a week in her foster home. She is house broken but will have an accident if not taken out to potty once she shows signs she needs to go out. She is a door dasher and loves being outside, so a fenced in yard would be ideal, but Gigi likes going out the front door as well :) She likes going for walks. and is a digger but doesn't dig to get out of fence, she just likes to find treasures - like Crickets! Loud noises make Gigi scared, for example she is afraid of gun shots. She doesn't go around barking but will alert if someone at door or pulls in drive. Gigi needs someone who will be patient and let her adjust. She really is a sweet little dog. :)

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt! Other Pictures of Gigi (in foster) (click to see larger version):
